II SIIS – Information, Innovation and Society Seminar

The postgraduate programmes in Science, Technology and Society (PPGCTS) and Information Science (PPGCI) at the Federal University of São Carlos (Universidade Federal de São Carlos – UFSCar), Brazil, promote the second Information, Innovation and Society Seminar (II SIIS), online on the 19th October, 2020, to coincide with the 17th National Week of Science and Technology promoted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Communications and Innovation, on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: the new frontier of Brazilian science.”

The theme of the II SIIS is “Artificial Intelligence: dialogues with  Information, Innovation and Society”, and we hope to create a space for the dissemination and articulation of scientific output arising from research in knowledge, technology and innovation in the national and international contexts of Information Science (CI) and Science, Technology and Society (CTS), taken as a broad field of study for the relationship between information and the evolutionary aspects of technology, in promoting innovation and its impact on the various segments of contemporary society.
